How to Maintain a Newly Polished Marble Floor
A polished floor stays brighter when grit, acidic cleaners, and residue are kept away from the surface.
Protect the reflection
Use clean walk-off mats at exterior doors, sweep with a soft tool, and wipe spills promptly. Grit tracked into an entryway can act like sandpaper under shoes and gradually soften the polish.
Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and avoid waxes, vinegar, bleach, abrasive powders, and generic spray cleaners unless their label specifically says they are safe for natural stone.
When to refresh the finish
Small dull areas may be a cleaning residue or early etching. If the floor stays flat after proper cleaning, professional polishing can refresh the reflection without automatically requiring full grinding.
A penetrating sealer supports stain resistance but does not create the shine. Keep the finish and the protection as separate maintenance decisions.
