What Happens During a Free Stone Restoration Estimate?
A useful estimate starts with the stone, the damage, the desired finish, and the conditions around the work area—not just square footage.
What the technician checks
The assessment looks at stone type, finish, scratches, etching, lippage, stains, cracks, old coatings, access, and the amount of surface exposed to traffic. The same room can need different services depending on which problems are present.
You should also explain how you use the space and what finish you want. A glossy lobby, a low-maintenance family floor, and a kitchen island may need different recommendations.
What you should ask
Ask which process comes first, how long the work will take, how the area will be protected, what the finished sheen will be, and what aftercare is required. A clear scope is more useful than a low number with no process attached.
Photographs can help with an initial conversation, but an in-person estimate is the best way to see lippage, texture, moisture, and previous coatings.
