How Dust-Free Wet Marble Grinding Works

Wet diamond grinding uses water and slurry extraction to remove deep damage while keeping airborne dust under control.

The diamond process

Grinding starts with coarse diamond tooling that removes a controlled amount of stone. Water cools the abrasives and binds the material being removed into slurry, while professional extraction equipment collects that slurry from the work area.

The technician checks the floor between abrasive stages. Once scratches, lippage, and damaged finish are removed, the process moves into finer honing and polishing steps.

Why preparation matters

Furniture, baseboards, adjacent surfaces, and walk paths are protected before work begins. Even a wet process needs careful containment, because slurry can travel if edges and transitions are not managed.

The result is a level surface that can receive the finish you want. Ask what degree of correction is needed rather than choosing grinding simply because the floor looks dull.
