How to Seal a Marble Shower Wall the Right Way
A shower must be clean and dry before sealing. The product needs to match the stone and be applied without leaving residue on the surface.
Prepare before product
Remove soap residue, mineral deposits, old topical products, and embedded dirt first. Allow the stone and grout to dry thoroughly; moisture trapped below a sealer can cause uneven absorption and delay curing.
Test the product on a hidden section to confirm the appearance and absorption. Penetrating sealers should protect without leaving a plastic film or changing the intended sheen.
Maintain the protection
Squeegee after use, keep the shower ventilated, and use a neutral cleaner. Check the surface periodically rather than assuming one application lasts forever.
If the wall is etched, cracked, or coated with old product, sealing is not the first step. Restore and clean the surface before applying new protection.
