How to Prepare Your Home for Stone Restoration

A clear work area, protected furniture, and a realistic drying plan help a restoration appointment run smoothly.

Before the crew arrives

Remove small objects, rugs, and floor-level décor from the work area. If furniture must be moved, confirm in advance which pieces the crew can safely handle and which need to be relocated by the homeowner.

Keep pets and children away from wet work zones and plan an alternate path through the home. Baseboards and nearby surfaces are protected as part of the setup, but access makes that work more precise.

After the work

Ask when the floor or countertop can receive foot traffic, furniture, water, and sealer. Some finishes need time to cure even when the surface feels dry.

Do not put rugs back immediately if moisture needs to evaporate. Follow the recommended cleaning routine and save the service details so future maintenance matches the restored finish.
