Raku Sealer
Raku Sealer is the penetrating sealer Elite Marble Care uses on marble, travertine, limestone, and other porous stone. It soaks into the stone rather than sitting on top like a topical coating, so it doesn't peel, yellow, or wear off in foot-traffic areas the way some surface sealers do. It's applied after grinding, honing, or polishing, once the stone's pores are clean and open enough for the sealer to absorb properly.
Because it's a penetrating sealer, it won't change the look or sheen of the stone. It just closes the pores so liquids bead up instead of soaking in and staining. Most floors need it reapplied every 1 to 3 years, and countertops or showers, which see more daily contact with water and oil, typically need it every year.

- A topical sealer sits on top of the stone like a coating, so it can peel or wear thin in high-traffic areas. Raku Sealer soaks into the stone itself, so there's no coating to wear off.
- Will sealing change how my marble looks?
- No. A penetrating sealer doesn't add shine or change the color of the stone. If you want more shine, that comes from honing or polishing, done separately.
- How soon after grinding or polishing can the sealer be applied?
- Sealer goes on once the surface has been cleaned and the stone's pores are open, usually right after the polishing or honing step in the same appointment.
